Improving

the user experience
Portbase aims to make the day-to-day use of the service Hinterland Container Notification (HCN) easier for all planners active in road transport, inland shipping and rail. We predominantly do this by improving their workflow.
We will help users to better organise and manage their workload in HCN. An important starting point in that respect is that a planner is able to start working according to the management by exception principle. Deviations immediately become apparent and can be addressed straight away.
To improve the user experience of HCN, we regularly brainstorm with planners and we look at the daily practice at their workplace. Together we determine the best way to organize the workload, which additional data is needed for this (but is still missing) and anything else that might be important.
First, the screen of HNC Road will be redesigned. This modality works most actively in the HCN screens. We work closely with the planners for this. The screens of HCN Barge and HCN Rail will follow soon.
The aim of Portbase is for the planner to have a better overview of what is relevant for the delivery and collection of containers in HCN. We are always looking for smart solutions. As an alternative for making print screens, for example, and for improving the search function within HCN.
Portbase adds all wishes from the planner’s daily practice on a functionality list with possible additions to HCN. New items are continuously being added to this list. In customer panels, working groups, etc., we always determine together with branch organisations and transporters which topics Portbase will concretely address next.
