‘Much more efficient for everyone’
‘Advantages for everyone involved’
Wim Luck, supervisor ECT’s Gate & Administration desk
Very efficient
At ECT’s three deepsea terminals, you can easily cancel a pre-arrival cargo declaration and resubmit it if desired. To do so, you can use the Portbase Road Planning service (both web and system link). It can be necessary to cancel a declaration, for instance, when a container is not going to be delivered or collected or if a pre-arrival cargo declaration is not correctly processed. All you need to do is select the container in the Road Planning service for the pre-arrival cargo declaration concerned and use the ‘Delete’ button. It is also possible to delete the pre-arrival cargo declaration from your in-house system.
“The road carrier can cancel the declaration itself and resubmit it if required. Therefore the Terminal no longer needs to be contacted”
Wim Luck, supervisor ECT’s Gate & Administration desk
Wim Luck, ECT’s Gate and Administration Desk supervisor: “This modification, which appeared to be so simple, proved to have a major impact at ECT and was difficult to get correctly operating at the three terminals. With the current modification to the Road Planning service and the modifications made at ECT, we have managed to realise a wish that is advantageous to everyone involved. The road carrier can cancel the declaration itself and resubmit it if required. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to contact the Terminal, in short, a great step that results in great efficiency for both the carriers and ECT.’’
