It is a first deepsea service for this terminal, located in the Eemhaven area, close to the city center. For the deepsea containers discharged here, RST is connected to the Secure Chain. Chief Commercial Officer Jeroen Zwijnenburg: \u201cWe have adapted our terminal system to handle this deepsea service. Through a hybrid setup, we can configure per shipping line whether the release and collection of containers \u2013 without PIN codes \u2013 go through the Secure Chain. It was also important that in the run-up to the first vessel call, both the Secure Chain organization and Portbase were able to act quickly. For RST, the shipping lines and their customers, everything was arranged in time. The introduction of the new way of working went very smoothly.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By adapting its own terminal system, RST is also already prepared for a possible future introduction of the Secure Chain for the shortsea. \u201cIf, in time, we decide as a sector to adopt it, we will be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>No more PIN codes in deepsea traffic<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Gerben van der Ent, Director Benelux at ONE, is pleased with RST\u2019s solution for deepsea traffic. \u201cAs a shipping line, we no longer issue PIN codes in Rotterdam. The release of containers is only done securely and reliably through the Secure Chain.
