Shipping lines/ship agents use the Secure Chain Release to release import containers via the Secure Chain. The Secure Chain is the safe and reliable method for releasing and collecting import containers in the Port of Rotterdam.
Service description
In the Secure Chain, a shipping line/ship agent sends the release of an import container to the shipper or the forwarder/logistics service provider (the so-called release-to-party). You do this via the Secure Chain Release service, meaning your customer no longer receives a PIN code. You can release a container to a freight forwarder (merchant haulage) or directly to a carrier (carrier haulage).
Freight forwarders and importers receive the release in Cargo Controller Import or Cargo Release Manager. Carriers will recieve the nomination via Hinterland Container Notification.
The release can be sent via your system (via an API or EDI connection) or via the web screens.

Costs
To participate in Secure Chain Release, you pay a fixed amount per release. There are no monthly subscription fees.
