Portbase is updating the way customers connect to our services via sFTP. This change is part of the broader programme ‘Securely connecting to Portbase’, which focuses on improving technical security and offering more user-friendly solutions.
Do you currently have one or more sFTP system links with Portbase? If so, you can now start migrating to the new System Links Portal. Find more information via this page.
Important: complete your migration before the first of December 2025. After this date, existing interface connections will be deactivated.
Greater control for technical administrators
With this migration, your organisation’s technical administrator will manage the sFTP system link independently. Instead of a password, the interfacewill be secured using an SSH key pair. This provides a higher level of security and allows for more flexibility — including the ability to manage access without involvement from Portbase.
What needs to be done?
To ensure a smooth transition, make sure the following steps are completed before 1 December 2025:
- Your technical administrator must create an IAMconnected account and link it to your organisation. Instructions: Create an IAMconnected account
- This person must be assigned to the user group ‘System Links’ in the Port Community System (PCS). Instructions for PCS main administrators
- Once these steps are completed, the technical administrator can independently start the migration in the new portal. This includes switching to the new endpoint and setting up the SSH key — a process that can be carried out step by step. View the full migration guide
Is your interface with Portbase managed by another party?
If your sFTP interface with Portbase is managed by a third party, you can authorise this party to act on your behalf via IAMconnected.
Why this change?
This migration lays the foundation for a future-proof technical environment. By introducing verified identities and enabling self-service management, we improve security while giving organisations more autonomy over their data exchange with Portbase.
