A service to move import containers within the Secure Chain.Digitally release and pass on import containers
This is a Secure Chain Service.
Basic service to release and pass on import containers through the Port of Rotterdam. This service is required both when you receive the release directly from the carrier/agent, and when you receive it from your client.
The Secure chain: safe processing of import containers
The Secure chain is a new process for the safe processing of import containers through the Port of Rotterdam. You will no longer receive the container release from the carrier by email with a PIN, but digitally in Portbase. As a shipper or forwarder, you will need one of two services: Cargo Controller Import or Cargo Release Manager.

Cargo Release Manager is a basic service that facilitates the release of a limited number of import containers within the Secure Chain, without adding additional functionalities. If you desire full control of your import cargo, choose Cargo Controller; a comprehensive service that not only allows you to receive container release information but also provides maximum insight into your cargo’s status, including:
- The ship’s ETA/ATA, ETD/ATD
- Maximum insight into your cargo’s status
- Real-time unloading information and expected container discharge (EDT)
- Customs information
- The description of goods
- The inland operator’s moment of departure from the terminal

Cargo Release Manager is only available through webscreens. Therefore, an API-connection is not possible.
